The Peterbilt Model 589 DNA

The most significant difference between the Model 389 and the Model 589 lies in the contemporary 2.1-meter cab. PACCAR's newest and most advanced cab design, featured in Peterbilt's Model 579, Model 567 and now Model 589, boasts a wider and taller layout. The cab offers lots of space, easily accommodating the industry's longest mattress. Modern composite materials also make the new Model 589 quieter on the road than its predecessors.

But the DNA of the Peterbilt 589 is essentially the same as the Model 389, as many of the truck's parts are similar to those of previous models. The newer model keeps nearly all other critical elements of the classic series, including the big 15-inch external air cleaner cans, 7-inch chrome exhaust stacks, pod headlights, bicycle fenders and rectangular mesh grille. The long nose of the Model 389 is also featured in the new design but with a 2-inch taller flat windshield design, making visibility better.
